This is a scan of a stock certificate for the Stony Creek Railroad Company.
It appears that this particular certificate was never issued. I do not know why not, or how it came to be that it was still so well preserved when I bought it from a vendor at a train show in the 1990s.

Collecting old stock certificates is a hobby that some collectors get into. I have some other certificates, nearly all railroad-related. None are extremely valuable, in a monetary sense, but I collect them for their historical and artistic value.

I am still looking for a North Pennsylvania RR certificate, but have been warned that it could be expensive. The NPRR bought out the Stony Creek RR, and was later swallowed up by the Reading Company. I have the SCRR certificate and a couple of Reading certificates, so the NPRR certificate is the "missing link." I also used to belong to the North Penn Model Railroad Club in Lansdale, PA, which was located about 20 feet from the NPRR tracks.
